Although kidney transplant remains the domain of urologists, many urology centers lack a kidney transplant program. Thus, the newly trained urologist grossly misses basic training in kidney transplant and vascular access. Ultimately that will reflect inadequate centers offering transplant services in 2 tier and 3 tire cites. Despite the current rise in dialysis centers, adequate number of transplant centers are still lacking in India.
