The Princeton Catalyst Blades are innovative painting and texturing tools that combine the functionality of a palette knife with the flexibility and paint-holding ability of silicone. Designed for expressive mark-making, these blades allow artists to push, pull, spread, scrape, and shape colour with exceptional control.

Made from flexible, solvent-resistant silicone, Catalyst Blades hold paint better than traditional metal palette knives and are suitable for both heavy and light body mediums. They work beautifully with oil paints, acrylics, water-miscible oils, and are equally effective with encaustics. Thanks to their high heat resistance (up to 450°F / 232°C), they can also be used with plaster, clay, and even cake frosting.

Each blade tip is removable from the ergonomic, brush-style handle, making cleaning extremely easy. Simply rinse with soap and water, place in the dishwasher, or peel off dried paint directly from the blade.

Available in 6 different blade shapes, each offered in 15mm and 30mm sizes, the creative possibilities for texture, colour shaping, and experimental techniques are virtually endless.
